Cable NJ The New Jersey Cable Telecommunications Association (NJCTA) is a charitable trade organization, founded in 1965, and headquartered in Trenton across from the Statehouse. Cable History

1949: A Philadelphia broadcast signal is annexed with superior precision in New Jersey for the first time—from the top of an Atlantic City hotel—and handed over to a group of gathering-goers in the hotel.

1950: By the turn of the decade, 70 CATV systems are serving 14,000 subscribers nationwide.
